The Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival Returns for 49th Year

The 49th Annual Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival is taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Washington County Convention Center Fairgrounds in Greenville, Mississippi. Gates open at 10:00am, and the festival begins at 12:00pm.

Founded in 1978, it remains the longest-running blues festival in America. The tradition continues with a lineup of legendary names in Blues, Soul, and R&B, such as "King of the Chitlin' Circuit" Bobby Rush, Eddie Cotton Jr., Eden Brent, Anthony ("Big A") Sherrod, and many more. The main stage and juke house stage with both feature 13 performances, with "The Goddaughter of Soul" Leela James closing out the night.

The city of Greenville is celebrating "Blues Week" all week long leading up to the festival, with community events, live performances, and cultural experiences that capture the history of the blues.
